The largest study ever to examine the health of black women reports that we are learning to take much better care of ourselves. The Black Women’s Health Study (BWHS) is the first in history to gather information about how many illnesses affect black women. By looking at everything from lupus, hypertension, and diabetes to premature birth, uterine fibroids, breast cancer, our dietary and exercise habits, the BWHS is designed to help us understand how best to protect and preserve our health. For Fierce, BWHS researchers gathered the latest good news about what we are doing to stay well.
