Divine Intervention in a Phone Call

White kept trying to find her way back to wellness on her own. “I’d buy bins and try to clean my house, but it was just too much,” she says of the growing piles at home. The ministry bootcamp and other weight-loss efforts were also failing.

By the time she picked up the phone one day and discovered that the team from “Extreme Weight Loss” was on the line, she was 262 pounds but only 5 feet 4 inches tall.

“I realized then that God had a different plan for me, that he put me on that line. He meant to get me to that place.”

White was ecstatic when she was chosen for the show’s 2015 season, but that was also when she discovered just how far she had to go.

“I did not realize how bad things were. When they gave me a physical for the show, I found out I had diabetes, hypertension, acid reflux and gout,” White says.

Then the moment came that almost any woman would dread, when she was required to strip down to revealing workout wear — belly exposed — for her first on-camera weigh in. “It was a very freeing moment,” she added. “I just came on national TV and let everyone know what I was dealing with.”
